Marfrig successfully concludes first shipment to Japan

Marfrig Global Foods, a leading global beef producer, has successfully concluded the first shipment of products to Japan from one of its units in Uruguay. Destined for Tokyo, the cargo includes a variety of beef patties and chilled cuts that will be sold by National Beef, which is the leading exporter of chilled beef from the United States to Japan and already a part of the Company’s operation in North America.

Marfrig is Uruguay’s leading beef producer. With two beef patty plants in the cities of Colonia and Tacuarembó, the company has monthly production capacity of 500 tons of product and is a global certified supplier to major international fast food chains.

Marfrig already exports other processed products to the Japanese market, such as beef extract, which is produced at the Fray Bentos unit, and beef jerky, which is a very popular beef snack in the United States and Japan.
