REDWERK Team at Web Summit, Lisbon, 2018

It’s been two months since the Web Summit in Lisbon took place, and finally, they managed to share their impressions.

Well, the most large-scale IT event in Europe Web Summit has passed. This year, just like last year, the summit was held in Lisbon and gathered more than 70 000 participants. In total there were representatives of 2600+ International Media, 1200 speakers on 24 stages, 1800+ startups, 69304 Attendees from 159 Countries. Redwerk team could not miss this event.

Ultimate organization. There were no long queues at registration. There were enough food courts and volunteers to help, which is also very important for the conference, which takes four days.

Arresting speakers. This year the inventor of the World Wide Web Tim Berners-Lee; American filmmaker and screenwriter Darren Aronofsky; founder and CEO at Medium Ev Williams; Executive Chairman of the Institute for Global Change Tony Blair; American fashion designer Alexander Wang; and many more outstanding and successful leaders from different industries were on stage, sharing insights from their experiences and talking about breath-catching future of technology, and simply charming and inspiring for action.

Key trends. A lot of smart things have been said, and we’ve learned about many new products and trends. Someone says why to go if there is a live broadcast anyway, but if you think so, then you don’t need to go to concerts and stadiums either. You perceive information quite differently while sitting in the hall. For Redwerkers, it was like a concert of a favorite band or a game of the best football teams.

Networking. This is above all things. This is how you can understand what the market’s vector is, what the globe is thinking about, how technologies are developing. Redwerk members bumped into people and asked questions. There were loads of different after parties for peer learning. BTW, this year there were so many Ukrainians, even Paddy Cosgrave, a co-founder of Web Summit, couldn’t but mentioned this fact during the opening ceremony.
