EMSL Toronto Testing Lab Earns AIHA LAP, LLC. EMLAP, ELLAP and IHLAP Accreditation

EMSL Canada, Inc. is proud to announce that its Toronto laboratory has been accredited by the American Industrial Hygiene Association (AIHA-LAP, LLC) expanding its Environmental Microbiology, Environmental Lead and Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Services.

EMSL Toronto is now accredited for fungal testing by direct examination in air, bulk and surface samples as well as for fungal cultures through the AIHA Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP). The laboratory is also certified for Legionella testing under the AIHA EMLAP program as well as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Environmental Legionella Isolation Techniques Evaluation (CDC ELITE) Program.

EMSL Toronto can analyze for lead in paint chips, soil, settled dust by wipe and airborne dust under the AIHA Environmental Lead Laboratory Accreditation Program (ELLAP). The laboratory is also certified for asbestos, metals, total/respirable dust and organics testing through the AIHA Industrial Hygiene Laboratory Accreditation Program (IHLAP).

EMSL Toronto is a successful participant in the AIHA-LAP, LLC Environmental Microbiology Proficiency Analytical Testing (EMPAT) for fungal and bacterial culture rounds, Environmental Lead Proficiency Analytical Testing (ELPAT) for paint chips, wipes, soil and air, as well as an Industrial Hygiene Proficiency Analytical Testing (IHPAT) Participant for asbestos, metals, organics and dust.

In addition, the laboratory is certified by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for bulk asbestos analysis by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) and for airborne asbestos analysis by Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM). Our Toronto and Montreal laboratories continue to be the only NVLAP accredited TEM laboratories in Canada.

EMSL Toronto is a recognized Institute for Research in Occupational Health and Safety (IRSST) laboratory for bulk building materials via PLM and TEM. The laboratory also offers asbestos solid and hazardous waste testing with New York State Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NY-ELAP).
