Thursday, February 7
Gerry Tierney will be on the panel ‘Revolutions in Transportation’ at the At Home with Growing Older in San Francisco, California. After decades of no change in urban transportation infrastructure - your parents and grandparents already waited at the bus stop - we are now in the midst of a transportation revolution, from ride sharing services to autonomous cars, that is rapidly changing the way we get from A to B. The panel will look at the potential impact of this trend on the quality of urban life and how this might affect the ‘age-friendliness’ of a city.

Irene Vogelsong will be on the panel ‘IIDA Charlotte City Center Design Days’ in Charlotte, North Carolina. The panelists will answer questions about the professional world, inspire, and motivate students in their design career. Following the panel, design professionals will be doing student portfolio reviews and mock interviews.

Tuesday, February 12
Alex Clinton will present ‘Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories: Overcoming Operational Challenges with Modern Design Solutions’ at the USDA ARS International Biosafety & Biocontainment Symposium in Baltimore, Maryland. With proper consideration in the planning of new facilities, modern Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratories should be able to address and resolve the challenges of past generation buildings while also providing a more efficient workflow for quicker turnaround of results to their clients and quicker identification of potential disease risks to the livestock population.

Allison Brown will be on the panel ’The Future of Design’ at Interiors+Sources Design Connections Conference in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. This panel will provide an opportunity to hear from a group of recent graduates - providing their take on where the future of design is headed and their perspectives on design.

Wednesday, February 13
Mona Lemoine will be on the panel ’A Material World - Making Sustainable Choices in a Complex World’ at BUILDEX Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia. Learn the different design philosophies and tools that you can use in selecting materials including The Living Building Challenge Materials Red List and healthy materials, the Perkins+Will "Precautionary List", and LEED v4 materials credits. Presenters will expand on how to use Life Cycle Assessment as a transparent means to manager and report environmental impacts on construction projects, discussing the risks and liability associated with material specifications.

Cillian Collins will be on the panel ’Quality Assured Passive House Process in Canada’ at BUILDEX Vancouver in Vancouver, British Columbia. This session looks to review and identify how a quality assured Passive House process is developing in Canada with particular reference to Part 3 buildings. Presenters will review and debate how their design management and construction management processes are changing to deliver certified Passive House projects. In particular, the impact on traditional project resource models, coordination and quality assurance requirements are evaluated with suggestions for further refinements.

Wednesday, February 20
Samantha Mason will be on the panel ‘Work Design TALKS: Emerging Talent’ hosted by Work Design Magazine in Washington, DC. Join the panelists for an evening of conversation and insight from some of DC’s top emerging designers and architects. Hear their point of view, what trends they are seeing, what resonates with them, what do they think about current technology tools and what role does it play in their workplace planning initiatives.
