Next 10 Ventures Expands Leadership Team with Appointment of Ex-Facebook Head of Creator Partnerships Lauren Schnipper as Vice President

Next 10 Ventures, a venture group focused on the global Creator economy, today announced the appointment of Lauren Schnipper as Vice President of Creator Partnerships and Peter Cho as Vice President of Finance.

Prior to joining to Next 10 Ventures, Schnipper led Facebook’s Creator Partnerships, where she worked with top-tier digital talent and helped launch Facebook Live and Facebook Watch. Schnipper also led Facebook Inc.’s presence at VidCon and originated the premium talent lounge concept for Instagram at VidCon, which has become a staple of the world’s largest Creator and digital media convention.

Earlier in her career, Schnipper partnered with Shane Dawson, and together they produced over 80 sketch, original music, and parody music videos, as well as branded content, helping grow the channel into one of the largest on YouTube, currently boasting over 30 million subscribers across the platform. In 2013, she and Dawson launched the podcast Shane and Friends, the first podcast hosted by a Creator, which landed the number one spot on iTunes. That same year they co-created a pilot that sold to NBC, marking the first time a Creator sold a show to a broadcast network.

In addition to Schnipper’s hire, the firm has brought on board Peter Cho as VP of Finance. Cho has more than 15 years of financial experience for leading companies like IAC, Maker Studios, Walt Disney, and ValueClick. Previous to his role at Next 10 Ventures, Cho was the Senior Director of Finance at Reformation, a sustainable clothing company.

Next 10 Ventures is led by Benjamin Grubbs, formerly YouTube’s Global Director of Top Creator Partnerships. Grubbs founded the company with a desire to propel the long-term growth and sustainability of the creator ecosystem. Its mission is to enrich, inspire and entertain consumers via the products and services it helps incubate and operate through partnerships with Creators. 

Ms. Schnipper and Mr. Cho’s appointments are the latest in a series of executive hires at the firm that include former eBay veteran, Cynthia So Schroeder as VP of Marketing and co-creator of the company’s EduCreator Incubator, and COO Paul Condolora, who was the former co-head of the Harry Potter franchise at Warner Bros and held senior positions at Turner Broadcasting including the SVP of digital and consumer products for Cartoon Network and Adult Swim.
