Plan to Attend PMA Education and Visit PMA Produce Pavilion at The NGA Show Feb 24-27

Newark, Del. – WEBWIRE

Produce Marketing Association (PMA) invites wholesalers, independent retailers and food retail industry members looking to drive sales to visit the PMA Produce Pavilion and join three fresh produce education sessions hosted by PMA at The NGA Show, February 24-27 in San Diego, California.

Steve Lutz, PMA vice president U.S. West and Canada, will lead the first of the three education sessions, “Organics: If You’re Not in the Business, You’re Missing Out.”

“Organic commodities continue to grow in popularity, bringing with it the opportunity to increase sales. With availability increasing and prices dropping, organics are among the fastest growing products in the produce department. If you aren’t looking at organic produce you are missing a key opportunity,” says Lutz.

Two additional produce-centric education sessions presented by PMA will follow Lutz’s Organics talk: “Driving Sales in Core Categories with New Varieties,” will focus on increasing profit through sales of varieties with a higher margin and “Steps Everyone Can Take to Increase Produce Sales,” will focus on knowing your business and using that knowledge to increase sales.

NGA is the national trade association representing retail and wholesale grocers that comprise the independent sector of the food distribution industry. In 2018, more than 3,000 independent supermarket operators, wholesalers, food industry service suppliers and manufacturers attended the NGA show, including C-level executives, store owners and front-line store managers who make purchasing decisions.

PMA will also host the PMA Produce Pavilion for the 7th year. The Pavilion will showcase high-quality produce from 19 exhibitors including Melissa’s, Idaho Potato Commission and Chelan Fresh.
