Farm animals travel to space on “The Helium Table” by E. Dorinda Shelley
What better way to travel into outer space than on a floating table?
Join the animals on their unexpected journey into space.
“The Helium Table” (PRGott Books Publishing; 2010) is the first installment in the series of children’s books involving helium. It features the same writer and illustrator as in the second book, E. Dorinda Shelley and Eleanor A. Hutton.
“The Helium Table” is an unusual kind of space adventure story, involving barn animals and a dining room table. The table, owned by Kath’s family, has been covered with junk mail, heavy books, and old newspapers for many years. Kath and her mother take the stuff off the table, which then floats out of the house like a helium balloon. The animals jump onto the helium table to hold it down, but it just continues to float into the sky, eventually reaching outer space.
What becomes of the animals who must fend for themselves in the vast outer space filled with space junk? Follow their adventure in E. Dorinda Shelley’s “The Helium Table.”
