The book helps readers understand that instead of taking part in these conflicts, God’s command to his children is simple: to become Listeners.

Coleman Lewis Coates believes that “no human war fulfills God’s justice.” Therefore, he emphasizes how there’s never a good reason for Christians to become involved with it. He also tackles how war is contrary to the mission of Jesus and the church. In his book, he helps readers understand that instead of taking part in these conflicts, God’s command to his children is simple: to become Listeners.

“The Listeners” is an eye-opening and in-depth discussion that benefits every member of the Christian community. The author expertly discusses what the Bible really says about war, evil, and justice. He also digs deeper into the theme of this book and tackles why it’s important to listen and obey Him in order to understand everyone’s true purpose and destiny.

He emphasizes how becoming listeners helps everyone understand that all Christians are God’s children and members of his team. He encourages each one to become in tune with Him and learn that the success of His Church is also His success. Most of all, he reminds readers that God’s final victory is when Satan and evil will be defeated and that He will live in the heart of everyone who believes in him.

Indeed, Coates’ enlightening book is a wonderful source of inspiration for many Christians from different walks of life. It’s even going to inspire more people as it joins the upcoming 2019 American Library Association Annual on June 21-24, 2019. Be sure to check it out!
