Keysberg to become CEO of thyssenkrupp Materials Services

Klaus Keysberg, CFO of thyssenkrupp Materials Services, is to become CEO of the company with effect from January 1, 2019. In addition, Ilse Henne will join the board of the business area as Chief Operating Officer (COO). This was confirmed by the supervisory board of thyssenkrupp Materials Services at its meeting on Tuesday.

Dr. Klaus Keysberg has been a member of the board of the business area since 2011 and CFO since 2014. He is to retain this post until further notice. As CEO, Keysberg will succeed Joachim Limberg, who will leave the company and enter retirement on December 31. He has successfully managed the business area for many years and shaped it with a view to the future. Under his management Materials Services has made very good progress, becoming one of the best in the sector.

Keysberg is a financial specialist and materials expert and also highly familiar with the operating business. Before his appointment as CFO of Materials Services, he was COO of the business area from 2011 to 2014 and also held various management roles at operating units.

Ilse Henne has made a name for herself as a successful materials specialist and experienced expert in change processes, among other things as CEO of thyssenkrupp Schulte and the Western Europe and Asia-Pacific regions. She will continue to hold this post until a successor is found. Markus Bistram will remain Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) on the management team.

Guido Kerkhoff, CEO of thyssenkrupp AG: “With these two decisions the new board of the Materials Services business area is excellently positioned. We can rely on a team that knows the business extremely well. Customers and employees of Materials Services will profit from this. I look forward to continuing good cooperation.”
