Novelist Assad R. Wright follows up with second political thriller

A gripping thriller that deserves a movie adaptation
Assad R. Wright, the author of “The Ring, The Bomb, and the Word,” takes readers through another religiopolitical turbulent time in “Hijacking of the American Presidency: Terrorists in the White House.” Wright’s second political thriller is bigger, stronger and about as explosive and entertaining as the first.
The premise of the novel should strike a chord with readers, especially those who are wary about the rise of the religious right, comprising mostly of white evangelical Christians, hence the label “Evangelical Right”. “Hijacking of the American Presidency,” just like its predecessor, deals with religious fundamentalists who will go to the extent of subverting the Constitution and assassinating political figures, including the incumbent president, in order to achieve its divine mandate.
What religious fundamentalists had failed to do (in the first book), this time they launch another attempt to control the political situation – by putting their own man in the White House. Once again, the religious unit of the Department of Homeland Security Anti-Terrorism Task Force is called on to thwart their diabolical plot with worldwide ramifications.

About the Author
Born and raised in Jamaica, Assad R. Wright attended teachers’ college and the University of the West Indies, followed by graduate work at Long Island University and CUNY Graduate Center in New York. A retired teacher, the author is now the pastor of a local assembly in Miami. This is the sequel to his first book, “The Ring the Bomb and the Word: The Face of the American Homegrown Terrorist.”
