Sarah Sewell Wolters Pens an Inspiring Story of a Woman’s Journey Towards Freedom from Abuse

Sarah Sewell Wolters has been a writer for many years. Along with her music, writing was another way to express her thoughts to the world. At a young age, she used to write for political reasons during the Vietnam War. Later on, she was able to publish a wonderful poetry collection. This time, she channels her ability to weave inspiring stories in the hopes of touching the hearts of many readers.
 
“Sassy Sonja: Virgin Bride” follows Sonja Kent, a young and promising girl who was forced to move from Georgia to Florida after her father’s business failed. Being separated from her Aunt Mabel and Grandmother Mary and losing her college scholarship, Sonja turned to her music and found some solace with it.
 
However, life wasn’t still entirely kind to Sonja. She tries her best to survive in a home where her father is abusive and her mother is passive. In church, she volunteers to play the piano. From there, she meets Walter, the young choir director, and he sweeps her off her feet.
 
Eventually, they both married but instead of finally finding an escape from her father and his abusive ways, Sonja realizes that her husband is also abusive and emotionally disturbed. In public, she pretends to have a happy married life but behind closed doors, she begs her husband to stop hurting her. In time, Sonja learns how to play smart and she finally found the courage to get the freedom she deserves.
 
Wolder’s poignant tale told in “Sassy Sonja: Virgin Bride” definitely captured many hearts during the successful 2018 Miami Book Fair International. Sarah Sewell Wolters began the study of piano at age five and music was the primary method for expressing her feelings. She wrote for political reasons during the Vietnam War and later published a book of poetry. Today she is a senior citizen with an empty nest and a brand-new BA degree in technical communications. She lives in Virginia and is writing the sequel.
