ChiGlo, A Mix of Cultures for a Collection with a Chic Ethnic Touch

Chiara and Gloria Piscedda-- twin sisters and fashion designers of ChiGlo--  propose a rich collection with an ethnic flavor that breaks down traditional borders. The collection is characterized by a coexistence of styles, a real mix of different themes and worlds, without ever forgetting the unconditional love for the italian island of Sardinia: the land of origin of the two designers.

Eastern Kimonos break through this collection and shine, becoming an instant fashion staple for all occasions; the corduroy suits, enriched with colorful patches that reference the ‘burnt land’ of Sardinia, are also iconic pieces of the collection.

The Flying Burrito Brothers, musical icons of the seventies, seem to revel in this collection. ChiGlo’s reinterpretation of the famous Sardinian shawl through the poncho and the modern reworking of the maxi dress--a long dress up to the ankles-- with bright colors, are clear references and homages to that ‘groovy’ style.

High quality materials and attention to detail are the focus of the collection, in which handcrafted decorations and bead embroidery reflect a tasteful influence of culture and tradition. The rich and precious fabrics -- including shantung, soft velvets, laminated sweaters and silks-- create a lasting impact and impression. The color palette is not far behind: orange, yellow, green, a real tribute to the swingin’ 70’s.

There is no shortage in this collection for the iconic ChiGlo sweatshirts, reworked with colored patches or showcased in a contemporary style, with geometric patterns. The embroideries of the Sardinian shawls once again decorate the outerwear, which are embellished with woolen workmanship. The iconic ChiGlo logo is revisited in a streetstyle monocolor jersey suit, while a second version of the logo-- in a new texture and more geometric in style found in two color variations. The juxtaposition of traditional and contemporary style, found in this season’s collection, showcases Chiara and Gloria’s passion for their eclectic homeland and for creating something truly personal.
