The retired physician’s daughter suffered from brain tumor.

Norfolk VA, USA – WEBWIRE

A father’s love knows no bounds.

Throughout his medical career, T. Winston Gouldin provided care to thousands of patients. As a church worker, he helps strengthen the faith of his fellow believers. When his youngest daughter Cindy was diagnosed with brain tumor and required terminal care, he, despite his advancing age, does what a father should do, one of which is sharing her story in a book titled “Cindy: A Story of Love” (AuthorHouse; 2006).

“Cindy: A Story of Love” tells about Cindy, whom the author described as a sensitive, gentle, sweet and kind young lady. A terribly delayed diagnosis of her brain tumor robbed Cindy of many things in her life but it never took away her capacity for hope. Her career as a physical therapist was cut short, a divorce soon followed, and she had to put her beloved house on the market.

And yet, in spite of all of these, Cindy never complained about her fate. She was always appreciative of the love and care given to her by her family and friends.

“Cindy: A Story of Love” narrates many events in Cindy’s life and that of her family and friends, including the weddings of two of her friends. As the book was written from the perspective of a father and primary caregiver, it also details the medical issues surrounding the author.

But what the book does the most is extol and demonstrate the importance of a loving and caring family when one of its members succumbs to a chronic, disabling illness or injury, especially one that requires terminal care, which a patient could receive only from the person who has the most love to share. As a camellia enthusiast, the author knows there is great beauty in caring for his children, no matter their age.

T. Winston Gouldin’s book is available through Barnes & Noble (https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/cindy-t-winston-gouldin/1112403749).

“Cindy: A Story of Love” was displayed at the recently concluded 2018 Miami Book Fair held last November 11-18 at the Miami Dade College’s Wolfson Campus in Downtown Miami.
