“No human war fulfills God’s justice. Living the resurrection life and proclaiming it to the nations is God’s only command to Listeners today.”

Coleman Lewis Coates calls all his readers to listen. Through his book, he encourages the power of listening and obedience among every reader and member of the Christian community as a way to become more in tune with God and his plan for His people. Not only that, his book provides a clearer understanding of the incompatibility of warfare and God’s word.

“The Listeners” brings a sense of clarity about where Christians should take a stand in times of war. Through the author’s insights, he answers questions and discusses what the Bible really says about justice, war, evil. He also lays out what God planned out for everyone and how war is the opposite of what Jesus’ and the Church’s mission is.

Ultimately, the book talks about what everyone should become—as listeners. The author tackles how being obedient and aware of God’s will are the key to being one with Him. He emphasizes that all Christians are God’s children and members of his team. Therefore, His victory is as much of a victory for each one. Indeed, readers will truly discover a sense of acceptance and understanding of everyone’s purpose in their lives and of what God has in store for everyone.
