TestAmerica to Present at FET Annual Conference

TestAmerica is pleased to announce their participation in the Federation of Environmental Technologists, Inc. (FET) Annual Conference.  Held Tuesday, October 23 – Thursday, October 25 in Pewaukee, WI, the conference brings together environmental regulators and commercial entities to discuss pertinent industry topics, such as current and future environmental legislation, health and safety, and emerging technologies. In addition to exhibiting at the conference, TestAmerica Expert Taryn McKnight will also deliver a presentation on the topic of emerging contaminants.  
 
Ms. McKnight’s presentation, entitled Emerging Contaminants of Concern: Per- and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS), will be offered on Wednesday, October 24^th at 9:45 AM.  Her presentation will provide an overview of PFASs, a family of synthetic compounds containing thousands of chemicals which are prevalent in manufacturing and consumer products.  Persistent and resistant to typical environmental degradation, the C-F bonds present in PFAS compounds are the shortest and strongest bonds in nature, making them beneficial for many commercial and industrial applications. In addition to an overview of PFAS compounds, Ms. McKnight will also describe how PFAS impacts commercial businesses, as well as the status of emerging regulations.

She has extensive experience with a wide variety of complex regulatory programs such as Department of Defense, Vapor Intrusion, and emerging contaminants.  In her current role she is responsible for providing technical guidance and support to clients, agencies and industry personnel across the country.
