Support for Parents and Grandparents Grieving the Loss of a Baby

Offered Free from The Elizabeth Hospice

San Diego, CA – WEBWIRE

The loss of a baby is heartbreaking.  Whether the loss is sudden and unexpected or due to a prolonged illness, parents and grandparents often experience feelings of desperate longing, a sense of isolation, and dashed dreams for the future. With support and guidance, though, parents and grandparents can once again feel hopeful and have a sense of peace.

The compassionate grief counselors of The Elizabeth Hospice are experts in grief and loss. As part of their comprehensive bereavement services, they are offering a free support group for parents and grandparents who are grieving the death of their baby from any means. Lullabies Lost will meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 6:00 to 7:30 pm, at 930 Canterbury Place, Escondido. Space is limited and attendees are required to call 760-294-5864 or email griefinfo@ehospice.org to register.

“Support group participants will gain a better understanding of their grief experience,” said Paula Bunn, Bereavement Manager. “They will learn coping skills, receive valuable information and resources, have opportunities to honor and memorialize their baby, and connect with others who are facing similar circumstances. We strive to help grieving parents and grandparents gain new insights and learn what it means to find support and hope after loss.”

The Elizabeth Hospice makes it easy for people to find the resources they need by providing a variety of grief counseling and support group options at multiple locations across San Diego and Southwest Riverside Counties. Counseling services are available for individuals, couples, families and children.
