Author Dr. Sal Pellicano Shares Experiences in Life

Terry MS – WEBWIRE

Dr. Sal Pellicano’s parents were immigrants from Sicily, Italy; Sal, however, was born and, for the first ten years of his life, raised in South Philadelphia. Sal’s father determined to open a bakery in New Jersey, Clayton to be exact. Sal, became a baker. He was taught by his father, who was taught by his father, who learned the trade while in Sicily.

As a youth, Sal had few constraints. As long as he showed up for work, he could do almost anything he wanted. Many times, he would be up all night and go straight to work; there was little discipline.

Throughout the years Sal worked for his dad, he was given the assurance that someday the bakery would be his, and should he get married, there would be a substantial pay increase so he could support a family. It came as quite a shock, one month before he was to be married, his father informed him that he no longer had a job; it took a while, but Sal learned it was all in the plan of God.

What started as a hobby, soon became an obsession; motorcycles! From racing, to opening a business (The Cycle Center). So much can be written about the struggles of Sal’s youth. Certain he was happy, only to learn how really unhappy he really was.

Then there was Bette. She was Sal’s true happiness, his true love. She was his refuge, his teacher, and his rock. It was her prayers, her persistence, and most of all her example that led Sal to Jesus Christ. Their love lasted forty years and six children. Bette worked to help put Sal through college, graduate school, and post graduate school. Unfortunately, Bette died in 2004; hopefully, this book will serve as the tribute she rightfully deserves.

This autobiography is a tribute to a remarkable woman, mother, and wife: Bette.
