Ben Killingsworth Brings Humor into the Mundane Dealings of Husbands, Wives, and Everyday Life

Ben Killingsworth used to write columns for the Idyllwild Town Crier, a weekly paper that serves the community of Idyllwild in Southern California. Surprised that a lot of people still remember and tell him that they miss his columns, he creates and dedicates his book to these people and those who truly enjoy a good laugh.
 
“Waiting for My Wife” is a collection of humorous newspaper columns like no other. Each column is short enough to be a quick and fun read yet readers are in for a good laugh one chapter after the other. As the title suggests, the book shares stories that shed light on different aspects of married life but also touches on family matters, different aspects of daily living, and depictions of small-town living. Overall, it’s a fun and delightful read that reminds readers that everyone should live their lives with a lot of fun and laughter.

Nine years ago, after spending most of his life living and working in mid to large sized California cities, the author and his wife, Nanci, moved to Idyllwild - a dream come true for both of them! Living in a small town has many advantages, along with a few disadvantages. The best part, by far, is getting to know the people, almost all of them friendly, and almost all convinced they are living in paradise. And just about everywhere you go, be it the Post Office where we all go every day to pick up our mail, or the market where, in addition to groceries, we get the latest weather forecast, or to one of our restaurants where we know everyone who works there and several of the other patrons, with at least one of them sure to offer an even later version of the weather forecast than the one being dispensed by the clerk at the market. As for the disadvantages, perhaps the worst one is the absolute impossibility of keeping a secret - about anything!
