Osmo Announces Lineup of First ‘Osmo on Tour’ Spanning 22 North American Cities

On the heels of partnerships with Mattel, Disney, and Amazon, Osmo is hitting the road to bring its 11 hands-on experiences to more families from Oct. 4 - Dec. 16

PALO ALTO, Calif. – WEBWIRE

A truckload of hands-on learning and fun featuring Mickey Mouse, Hot Wheels and healthy screen time is hitting the open road, and it’s fueled by childhood imagination. Starting today, Osmo, the award-winning system that sparked a New Play Movement of seamless digital and hands-on play and learning, is bringing its universe of experiences to towns across the US for an interactive road tour. The Osmo Tour will be visiting 12 states, from Washington to California and Massachusetts to Florida, making four-day stops in 22 cities along the coasts to give families and classrooms an opportunity to explore its interactive experiences.

Osmo’s unique hands-on approach represents the confluence of digital entertainment and tangible, kinesthetic learning. Osmo’s proprietary Reflective AI technology allows a phone or tablet’s camera to “see” objects in front of it so kids can play beyond the screen by combining physical and digital play. Now any object - tiles, pen & paper, blocks, toys, you name it - can control the on-screen fun in magical experiences that promote creativity, problem-solving and social interaction.

“We’re excited to introduce our physical-to-digital play experiences to millions of more families in the most Osmo way possible - in real life,” said Pramod Sharma, CEO and co-founder of Osmo. “Our New Play Movement is founded on healthy screen time that connects the limitless magic of the digital world to the hands-on fun and learning that comes naturally to kids. So connecting with kids and parents in a physical space is a perfect fit for us.”

Osmo will be visiting Lynwood, WA (Oct.4-7); Seattle, WA (Oct. 11-14); Portland, OR (Oct. 18-21); Roseville, CA (Oct. 25-28); Hayward, CA (Nov. 1-4); San Jose, CA (Nov. 8-11); Chandler, AZ (Nov. 15-18); Glendale, AZ (Nov. 23-26); Canoga Park, CA (Nov. 29-Dec. 2); Carlsbad, CA (Dec. 6-9); and Valencia, CA (Dec. 13-16) on the West Coast. On the East Coast, The New Play Movement Tour will be visiting Pembroke Pines, FL (Oct.4-7); Brandon, FL (Oct. 11-14); Altamonte Springs, FL (Oct. 18-21); Atlanta, GA (Oct. 25-28); Pineville, NC (Nov. 1-4); McLean, VA (Nov. 8-11); Philadelphia, PA (Nov. 15-18); Massapequa, NY (Nov. 23-26); Elmhurst, NY (Nov. 29-Dec. 2); Livingston, NJ (Dec. 6-9); and Natick, MA (Dec. 13-16). In addition to visiting towns up and down the coasts, Osmo will also be collaborating with Good Housekeeping for their annual pop-up store in the Mall of America over the holiday season. Osmo is among the 40 products tested and approved by the Good Housekeeping Institute. More information on Good Housekeeping’s pop-up can be found here.

Backed by decades of research on the power of hands-on play, Osmo creates an entirely new way for kids to interact with the screen. Guiding early education into a new era, Osmo bridges the gap between physical and digital play that gives kids the hands-on play they need and the screen time they want. Adopted by one-third of US schools and half a million families, the company is going on tour to get its engaging universe of experiences into the hands of even more kids.

This tour also marks the first time Osmo for Amazon Fire will be on shelves. Osmo has surpassed one million downloads and is being used in over 50 countries. Osmo has partnered with toy giants Disney and Mattel and has received awards from Time Magazine, Fast Company, and Parent’s Choice Awards.
