Winder, GA, USA – WEBWIRE

This story reminds readers that there is always hope for redemption and through faith and the kindness of others, finding freedom is possible.

When C.B. Skelton volunteered in his church‘s decision to sponsor a refugee family, he knew he was taking on an opportunity of a lifetime to change several lives. As he got to know and understand what  the group leader, SamSan, had to go through to finally experience true freedom, he was not at all prepared for how his own life would be changed forever. Today, he shares this remarkable journey in the hopes of inspiring and changing people’s perspective the way it did for him.

“A Simple Seller of Noodles” shares  the struggles and triumphs of SamSan. Skelton vividly narrates this Cambodian refugee’s journey: near-infanticide in a garbage can, rise to leadership levels only to fall from favor and suffer political imprisonment. Dramatically rescued from prison,, he was swept into Pol Pot’s death march. He survived four years of brutal labor under Pol Pot before he began a frantic search for his lost son. SamSan eventually found refuge in a small Georgia town, where he found true freedom at last.

Samsan never fails to recognize how God has never left his side throughout the most difficult times in his life. His story reminds readers that there is always hope for redemption. Through faith and the kindness of others, finding freedom is possible. Hoping to inspire more readers, “A Simple Seller of Noodles” will join the upcoming 2019 American Library Association Annual on June 21-14, 2019. Be sure not to miss it!
