The Smithsonian Women’s Committee today announced that more than 60 acclaimed designers—both returning and new—have been selected for the 2018 Smithsonian Craft2Wear show and sale Oct. 4–6 at the National Building Museum. For the first time, the show will feature “Pepper the Robot” as a guide to the many individually designed pieces of handmade clothing, jewelry and accessories for women, men and children. The opening-night cocktail party will take place Thursday, Oct. 4, from 6 to 9 p.m., in the museum’s great hall. It will feature a reception with hors d’oeuvres and sweets and an informal fashion show. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the designers and purchase items before the show opens to the public.

Smithsonian Craft2Wear continues Friday, Oct. 5, and Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The National Building Museum is located at 401 F St. N.W., in Washington, D.C.
