Variety of Performers Scheduled for Radio Show BMI Songwriters Spotlight Series


WASHINGTON, D.C./NEW YORK – WEBWIRE

The BMI Songwriters Spotlight Series is returning to the 2018 Radio Show and will feature 12 BMI songwriters. The performances are free for registered attendees and will take place during select sessions and networking events. The Radio Show is held September 25-28 in Orlando and produced by the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB) and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB).

“Millions of Americans turn to radio every day to hear the music they love and to discover new talent,” said BMI Vice President of Industry Relations Dan Spears. “We are proud to once again showcase the best of BMI’s emerging and well-established songwriters for this annual highlight at the Radio Show.”

SOUL CIRCUS COWBOYS
September 25, 5:00-6:30 p.m.- Welcome Reception

Soul Circus Cowboys is a country music group consisting of Billy McKnight, Jason Alfano, Mike McMahon and Rick Morgan. The group’s first full-length album, “Tailgate Country,” reached Billboard’s Top 50 Country chart.

BRIAN SUTHERLAND
September 26, 10:00-10:30 a.m.- Marketplace Coffee Break

Brian Sutherland is a Florida native currently based in Nashville. He is an accomplished guitarist and cellist with a musical style described as a mix of folk, country and jazz. Sutherland has worked with artists like The Beach Boys, Michael Ray and Natasha Bedingfield.

LANCE CARPENTER
September 26, 11:45 A.M.-1:15 p.m.- Radio Luncheon

Lance Carpenter is the chart-topping songwriter of Kelsea Ballerini’s “Love Me Like You Mean It.” He recently released a country duet song with Krystal Keith, titled “Anyone Else.”

JIMMY NASH
September 26, 3:15-3:45 p.m.- Marketplace Refreshment Break

Jimmy Nash’s first album, “The Road to 33,” blended country, rock and pop. The first single, titled “More Than Crazy,” was licensed for ABC Family’s show “Jane By Design.” Nash also wrote the song “Walls,” which has more than one million streams online.

TERRY SYLVESTER
September 26, 4:00-5:15 p.m.- Wednesday Headline Session

Guitarist and singer Terry Sylvester has performed with “The Escorts,” “The Swinging Blue Jeans” and “The Hollies” with sounds inspired from both the pop and soft rock genres. Early in his career, Sylvester performed with “The Beatles” on many occasions and recorded with Elton John. He was inducted into the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame” in 2010.

KAYLEIGH BAKER
September 26, 5:30 p.m.- Marketplace Reception

Blues singer-songwriter Kaleigh Baker has music licensed by companies such as Apple, Starbucks and ESPN, among others. Baker performs live nightly and is currently working on her third album.

SHEENA BROOK
September 26, 6:15 p.m.- Marketplace Reception

Country singer-songwriter Sheena Brook is a southwest Florida native and appeared on NBC’s Season 12 of “The Voice.” Sheena released her EP “The First Time” and her self-made music video “Lime in My Whiskey” in 2017.

CHRISTIAN CUEVAS
September 27, 7:30-9:00 a.m.- Advertiser Breakfast

Christian Cuevas competed on season 11 of “The Voice.” He has worked with well-known artists like Alicia Keys, Ariana Grande and Garth Brooks and is known for his mix of R&B and soul music.

DAN SIGNOR
September 27, 11:30 A.M.-1:00 p.m.- Marketplace Mixer

Dan Signor fronts The Dan Signor Project, which performs jazz-funk-folk music for audiences across Central Florida. The band recently received “The Ledger’s Polk County Best of the Best Band of the Year” award.

JORDAN FOLEY
September 27, 2:30-3:00 p.m.- Marketplace Happy Hour

Jordan Foley is a folk-Americana singer-songwriter based in Orlando. This year Foley was nominated for Best Folk Act of “Orlando Weekly’s Best of Orlando.” His debut album titled “Give to Get a Day” was released last April.

ERIC DURRANCE
September 27, 4:00-4:30 p.m.- Marketplace Happy Hour

Eric Durrance performed as the opener on the 2008 CMT Tour with country stars Jason Aldean and Lady Antebellum. Durrance is also the front man of Tobacco Rd Band and has shared the stage with the likes of Jake Owen, Cole Swindell and Brantley Gilbert.

LAYLA BRISBOIS
September 27, 4:30-5:00 p.m.- Marketplace Happy Hour

Layla Brisbois is a local musician, voted one of the top three singer-songwriters in Orlando for “Best of Orlando 2017.” Brisbois released her first EP, “Shine,” last October and recently released her second, “Pavin My Own Way.”
