New Handy Backup: Unified S3 Backup Software

Novosoft, LLC just releases an updated version 7.15 of its popular backup solution, Handy Backup. With this new version users have the new plug-in “S3 Cloud”, which allows either making data backup to S3 cloud services or using these clouds as sources for backing up and recovering the information. In addition, this new version allows now making a mixed full/incremental backup.

“This is a new S3 backup plug-in, which contains all modern features and functions of the S3 data transferring protocol. By using it, we can connect not only to Amazon S3 but also to any other S3-driven cloud service. The Handy Backup 7.15 contains the new unified plug-in “S3 Cloud” for accessing data on S3-based storage services. This new plug-in has a simple setup, which requires only such parameters as S3 server name and keys. It allows connecting to potentially any S3 cloud exists, providing efficient, automated S3 backup and restore. Any S3 cloud service provider can utilize this plug-in for integrating Handy Backup to his dedicated cloud storage service.

In addition, the new version introduces a new mixed incremental backup technique, which consists of a full backup and then a preset quantity of incremental backups. When this preset quantity will expire, either by time or by a total number of copies, the cycle will start again from full backup, repeating again and again.
