Centrica’s Local Heroes service to launch in Ireland

Centrica plc has announced that its digital service, Local Heroes, which helps people to find trusted local tradespeople, is set to expand into Ireland a year after the service first launched in the UK.

Local Heroes will initially operate in north Dublin to connect people with local plumbing and heating experts, with more services and locations in Ireland to be added in due course.

By 2020, it is estimated that the on-demand home services market in Ireland will be worth around £1 billion, and provides the perfect solution for an increasing number of people who want a digital and pain-free solution when it comes to completing household projects.

Local Heroes will provide a seamless experience for those looking for a qualified, accredited and insured tradesperson, from searching for a job and providing a price estimate, through to confirmation and online payment.  All work that is undertaken is backed by a 12-month Bord Gáis Energy guarantee, one of the leading home services companies in Ireland, which is part of the Centrica group.
