Rochester Asbestos Testing Lab Receives NYSDOH ELAP Accreditation

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is pleased to announce that its Rochester, New York laboratory has been accredited to test asbestos in potable water, solid and hazardous waste as well as air and emissions by the New York State Department of Health Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NYSDOH ELAP).

Through the NYSDOH ELAP program, laboratories are accredited in accordance with Section 502 of the Public Health Law to ensure accuracy and reliability of analyses. According to NYSDOH ELAP, the accreditation demonstrates technical competence in order to analyze environmental samples or specimens originating in New York State. In addition, EMSL’s Rochester laboratory was recently accredited by the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP) for both bulk and airborne asbestos fiber analysis (NVLAP Lab Code: 600183-0) in February of 2018. The laboratory is capable of asbestos analysis via Phase Contrast Microscopy (PCM), Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM) and Transmission Electron Microscopy (TEM) methodologies.
