Following the announcement last month, that Pentland is to be the new global footwear licensee for Karen Millen, Nicola Mathews is appointed Brand Director - Fashion, and will head up both the Karen Millen and Ted Baker footwear businesses.

Nicola has a strong track record in growing fashion brands; she was previously commercial director at Karen Millen and has worked across commercial and merchandising roles for the likes of LK Bennett, Hobbs, Lola Rose and GAP.

Nicola says: “Pentland’s rich history of growing footwear categories for highly acclaimed brands, alongside its wealth of consumer insight, creative and category expertise, make this new role a really exciting proposition.  My focus will be on leading our footwear team in growing a beautiful portfolio of fashion footwear brands, that really matter to the consumer.”

Charlotte Cox is appointed Director of the Team Sports brands, Canterbury and Mitre. Charlotte has outstanding commercial credentials; with 20-years’ experience across a range of commercial, category, marketing and business development roles. In her most recent role as Vice President, Strategic Customers at Pentland Brands, she led the strategy and team delivering double-digit sales growth across both footwear and active divisions globally.

Charlotte says: ‘’Having grown up playing and watching team sports, the category is close to my heart and I’m proud to lead two brands which have outstanding heritage and are synonymous within their sports. I’m looking forward to working with the team, to build our insights and commercial planning capabilities, and getting more people on and off the pitch wearing and using our brands.”

Kevin McFadyen is appointed Brand Director of the outdoor brand, Berghaus. McFadyen has strong brand building experience, having previously worked for O2 and the family-owned Nando’s where he led significant growth.

Kevin says: “As a regular climber and Munro-bagger, I’ve always admired Berghaus as a fantastic brand with a strong heritage and huge potential. I’m delighted to be joining the team and, together, inspiring and enabling people to explore the great outdoors.”

Andy Long, CEO, Pentland Brands says: “We’ve made significant progress in transforming Pentland Brands; we’re now a simpler business, with a leadership structure designed to give brand directors a more consumer focused role in leading brand growth.

“Nicola, Charlotte and Kevin bring a wealth of commercial brand building experience to our business and will play a critical role in leading our brand strategies so that more people see, buy and love our brands.

“I’m delighted that we’ve been able appoint Nicola and Charlotte from our own leadership talent pool and we look forward to welcoming Kevin to the Pentland family in September”.
