Ted Landkammer Publishes New Children’s Book On Friendship

“The Poppies on the Hill” (Christian Faith Publishing, 2017) by Ted Landkammer is a wonderful and heart-warming story of friendship between Sarah, a nine-year-old girl, and Granny Brannigan, a ninety-six-year-old woman. Sarah lives with her family in a house which behind it is a large hill; Granny Brannigan lives alone with her cat.
 
Granny Brannigan is a kind and sweet old lady who would always wait by her front gate to give out chocolate cookies to all the boys and girls. But one day, she is not by her gate and this gets Sarah distressed. She learns Granny Brannigan is not feeling well so she decides to keep the old woman company.
 
The story takes a beautiful turn when Granny Brannigan gives Sarah some packets of poppy seeds. Why does she give her poppy seeds? What does Granny Brannigan want Sarah to do with them?
