A suspense story about how racism is not dead

The Bronx, New York – WEBWIRE

The book’s message is evident towards the end of the story in the concept of “middle ground.” Two opposing parties find compromise, albeit through a third party, by acquiesce. By slightly shifting their originating positions with give and take, both parties do gain what they seek,” Nieder said.

This suspense novel is an extension of Robert Nieder‘s first book “Sense of a Hummingbird.” It tells the story of a young college student, Mathias Kamau-Barrett, a brilliant man who wants to make a difference in the world.

Mathias decides to take a leave of absence from school and goes to Battersea Island, a remote, isolated island off the coast of Georgia.  He discovers that he possesses a special gift within him, The Sense, a paranormal ability to read people and situations with high accuracy upon first contact or, at times, with no interaction at all.

He is hopeful that he can get involved with the residents and help them in their huge tax assessment problem, which threatens the homeland that has been in their families’ possession for generations.  The Sense guides Mathias to believe that there are ulterior motives within the county and the state to remove an indigenous population from their land.
