Joseph L. Mbele, a Tanzanian, is a professor of English at St. Olaf College in Minnesota, USA. He previously taught Literature at the University of Dar es Salaam in Tanzania. A keen folklorist, he has lectured and presented papers on folklore at conferences around the world. He has published many papers, as well as a book, “Matengo Folktales.” His work is featured at
