HBIS & USTB Launching Coordinated Innovation Center of Green Steel Production

HBIS and University of Science & Technology Beijing (USTB) jointly launched the Coordinated Innovation Center of Green Steel Production (CIC) in HBIS headquarter. This is a latest practice that the parties implementing the spirits of the great speech made by CCP Chairman Xi Jinping in the 19^th Academician Conference of Chinese Academy of Sciences and 14^th Academician Conference of Chinese Academy of Engineering. HBIS CCP & Group Chairman Yu Yong and USTB CCP Chairman jointly revealed the plaque for CIC. Enjoying the advantages of industrial, HR and technological resources of the two organizations, CIC will become a globalized R&D center of green steel production and promote the upgrade of steel industry. HBIS President, CCP Deputy Chairman Peng Zhaofeng and USTB Principal Zhang Xinxin signed the agreement.  
Yu Yong said HBIS was one the largest steel producers and comprehensive service suppliers of the country, which had been taking the “Representing the National Industry and Playing the National Role”as its responsibilities and would make great contributions in the high quality development, Jing-Jin-Ji Coordinated Development and Belt & Road Initiative. HBIS and USTB share the same goal and this partnership is the latest action of the parties implementing the spirits of great speech made by CCP Chairman Xi Jinping in the 19^thAcademician Conference of Chinese Academy of Sciences and 14^th Academician Conference of Chinese Academy of Engineering, identifying the functions of enterprises, universities and research institutes in the innovation chain of the industry, following the national strategy. CIC will start the coordinated development of HBIS and USTB and we hope that USTB could strengthen its studies in the application of new technologies and resolve the actual bottlenecks HBIS faces in technologies and HR. HBIS will cherish CIC dearly and provide full support to the center in its operation. It also take the opportunities and resources brought by CIC and benefit from it. 
Wu Guilong said USTB owned leading technologies in steel metallurgy and mining industry and could play a leading role in the coordinated development of Jing-Jin-Ji region, particularly the upgrade and reform of steel industry. Next, USTB will identify the targets in the innovation & full industrial chain and deepen its cooperation with HBIS by providing solutions to the problems the enterprise encountering.
HBIS and USTB will be full process oriented, green intelligent oriented, new steel oriented and international. Withe support of the State Key Laboratory of Advanced Metallurgy, the parties are launching the new CIC, which will be one of the most competitive and influential R&D platform of green steel industry and classical cooperation between a Chinese enterprise and a university and a state level green steel innovation and production center. CIC will be project oriented and try to find fundamental solutions in HBIS upgrade and resolve actual problems in industry. Considering HBIS special characters, CIC will focus its efforts in green recycling technologies of resources, big data and intelligent manufacturing technologies, new metallurgical technologies, new steel materials, product application technologies, online test technologies and internationalized HR training programs.
