Pemex and the STPRM Set Up Mixed Commission for Salary Review

Today, Petróleos Mexicanos and the Union of Oil Workers of the Mexican Republic (initials in Spanish: STPRM) set up the Mixed Commission for Salary Review, which will be in session from August 1st 2018 until July 31st 2019.

The regulations of this Commission were undersigned by Pemex CEO Carlos Treviño Medina and by the General Secretary of the General Executive Committee of the STPRM, Senator Carlos Antonio Romero Deschamps.

During the event, the Pemex CEO pointed out that the talks will be held in an environment of respect and cordiality, and that, taking the current economic context the company is facing, the parties will achieve an agreement that will benefit the workers, who are the greatest capital the company relies on.

On the other hand, the General Secretary of the STPRM assured that both company and union will continue to build a constructive working and institutional relationship, to support the Pemex’s transformation into a more efficient and competitive company, as well as to strengthen the development of the national energy industry, for the benefit of all oil workers and their families.
