New Jersey Silica Testing Laboratory hosts EIA Silica Sampling Seminar in Cinnaminson on June 7th

EMSL Analytical, Inc. is hosting the upcoming Environmental Information Association (EIA) Silica Seminar at corporate headquarters on Thursday, June 7^th in Cinnaminson, New Jersey. The program will run from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and will feature information on Respirable Crystalline Silica (RCS) from the perspective of an attorney, a consultant as well as a laboratory professional.

This class is designed to meet the requirements of the OSHA Construction Standard for Respirable Crystalline Silica which has been in effect since September 23, 2017. OSHA’s Silica standard requires employers to implement a written exposure control plan including designating a competent person to oversee workplace activities and to minimize employee exposure.

Topics include an explanation of what silica is, health hazards associated with exposure to silica and medical surveillance program, typical workplace tasks that could result in exposure to respirable silica, measures to be taken for employee protection from silica, employee exposure assessments, written exposure control plan, competent person responsibilities and detailed summary of the contents of the OSHA standard, 29 CFR 1926.1153.

The seminar speakers include Adele Abrams, Esq., CMSP, Terracon Consultants’ Scott Rohlf, CIH, and EMSL’s Vince Daliessio, CIH.
