TestAmerica Experts to Present at TCEQ Environmental Trade Fair and Conference

Austin, TX – WEBWIRE

TestAmerica, the leader in environmental testing, is pleased to announce that two of its esteemed experts will be presenting this week at the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Environmental Trade Fair and Conference in Austin, TX. The event will feature presentations by Dr. Kesavalu “Doss” Bagawandoss on the topic of enhanced hydrocarbon fingerprinting, as well as Karla Buechler on the topic of polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS).

Dr. Bagawandoss will discuss enhanced hydrocarbon fingerprint testing on Tuesday, May 15 at 10:30 am.  The presentation, which is offered as part of the Lab Practices and Data Reporting educational track, will focus on the evolving practice of utilizing chemical fingerprinting on petroleum products and crude oil.  Chemical fingerprinting is an analytical procedure which allows for the comparison of unique diagnostic chemical features of potentially impacted environmental samples.  Data generated from hydrocarbon fingerprinting is often used to assess potential liability, as well as monitor short and long term environmental impacts.

Dr. Bagawandoss received his Ph.D. in Engineering (Environmental Science) from the University of Oklahoma, a M.S. in Chemistry from Wichita State University, a B. S. in Chemistry from Loyola College, University of Madras, and a J.D. from Southern University Law Center. Renowned throughout the industry, Dr. Bagawandoss is a proven leader in the areas of hydrocarbon chemistry, hydraulic fracturing, and the crude oil transportation sector.

Ms. Buechler’s presentation, entitled PFAS Challenges and Best Practices, is also being offered as part of the Lab Practices and Data Reporting educational track.  The presentation will take place on Wednesday May 16 at 8:30 am, and will focus on PFAS compounds, with a discussion on nomenclature, structure, chemistry, exposure, and risk.  TestAmerica has been at the forefront of PFAS testing for decades, and offers the largest capacity for PFAS testing in the nation.

Karla Buechler has more than 30 years’ experience in the environmental testing industry, and is renowned in the industry for her knowledge on PFAS analytical practices and other chromatography systems, such as Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry and High Resolution Mass Spectrometry.  She earned her BS in Biochemistry from the University of California at Davis.

TestAmerica will also be exhibiting at the TCEQ Environmental Trade Fair and Conference.  Alongside sister company, METCO, TestAmerica representatives will be on hand at booth 1007 to discuss analytical offerings and custom made solutions to support the most challenging environmental testing opportunities.
