World War II veteran, teacher, and author Hugh Rayment launches his 10th book, “Joey,” portraying a young man in pursuit of a meaningful purpose. The 93-year old novelist is known to draw scenes from his own life experiences and relives some of the significant ones in his works.  Both moving and innocent in equal measures, “Joey” will inspire you to believe in the innate goodness and kindness of people despite the momentary backslides.

The story is set in a farming community. Hitting home on the essence of all things human, this book serves as a constant reminder to always find meaning in doing. To repeat and insist, to find courage in the present, and to reserve hope for the future.

Rayment takes pride in being the storyteller of his family. He’s one of the seven kids raised by his father, who was a practicing architect, and his mother, who came from an affluent family and was highly-educated. In their household, he recalls lying down all five of them on bed while his siblings ask him to tell them a story.
