Educator and career coach Dr. Moses McCutcheon, Jr. published “Planning Today for Success Tomorrow: Helping Students Choose Their College or Trade School Major and Career.”

At first glance, “Planning Today for Success Tomorrow” seems like any other college preparation guide but it happens to be more than that. First of all, it is a call to action for middle and high schoolers (ages 12-18) to develop solid academic skills and above all, personal grit to succeed in college or trade school and to build a successful career. Second, the book is not only intended for students but also for parents, schools, and certain organizations to engage their youth in a dialogue and encourage them to open up about their goals and objectives for life after school.

“Planning Today for Success Tomorrow” stresses the importance of career planning as early as possible in elementary school to expose students to a broad range of career possibilities and opportunities. This is necessary to help them avoid making poor educational choices in high school and prepare themselves to compete globally and meet the demands of the modern workforce.

The author, Dr. Moses McCutcheon Jr., is the developer of the School-To-Success model for life and career guidance, and Founder/President of the School To Success Academy Center Online (formerly the School-To-Success Foundation), whose mission is helping students choose their college or trade school major and career…bridging the gap between school and a successful life. Motto: Connecting life purposes with career choices. The School To Success Academy Course is a community outreach life and career guidance project for middle and high school students and their family.

He is an Author, Professor, Educator, Trainer, Retired Military Officer, Certified Life and Career Guidance Consultant/Career Coach, Entrepreneur, and Motivational Seminar Leader with a Doctor of Education Degree in Organizational Leadership and Master’s Degree in Education Administration from Pepperdine University. He is a pioneer in the fields of career/technical education and life/work planning with over 25 years of experience as a trainer and personnel management analyst. He does community work through Bethel Los Angeles Community Development Corporation as Executive Director and serves as Adjunct Professor of Strategic Management for Webster University, Los Angeles Air Force Base location. He teaches both undergraduate and graduate classes.

McCutcheon, a retired Food Service Director with a Master’s Degree in School Business Administration; they have a daughter, Melinda, and twin boys Moses III and Matthew McCutcheon.
