Bestsellers: HBG has 15 titles on the New York Times Bestseller list dated May 13, including one #1— Dear Madam President by Jennifer Palmieri (Grand Central) moves into the #1 position on the Business Bestsellers (Monthly) list. HBG’s distribution clients have six titles on the list this week, including one #1 – Last Week Tonight with John Oliver Presents Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo by Marlon Bundo with Jill Twiss (Chronicle) remains at #1 on the Children’s Bestsellers (Picture Books) list. Mental Health America Award: Playing Hurt: My Journey from Despair to Hope by the late John Saunders (Da Capo) was the only book chosen by Mental Health America for their annual Media Award. MHA’s Media Award “recognizes journalists, authors, digital platforms, media outlets, television shows and filmmakers that have not shied away from the issues of mental illness and addiction – and in doing so, have educated, informed, and helped break down stigma and shame around these issues.”

RT Award for Jemisin: The Stone Sky, the third book in N.K. Jemisin’s New York Times bestselling Broken Earth trilogy, has won an RT Reviewers’ Choice Award in the Epic Fantasy Novel category. The Stone Sky has also been nominated this year for the Nebula Award for Best Novel and the Hugo Award for Best Novel.

RT’s for GCP & Forever: four 2017 RT Book Reviews Reviewers’ Choice Awards for GCP and Forever – The Highland Duke by Amy Jarecki (Best First Historical Romance), Duke of Desire by Elizabeth Hoyt (Best British Isles Set Historical), Beautiful Liar by Zara Cox (Best Erotic Romance), Twisted Truths by Rebecca Zanetti (Best Paranormal Romantic Suspense), as well as the 2017 Career Achievement Award in Historical Romance for Elizabeth Hoyt. Arthur C. Clarke Award: two Little, Brown novels made the shortlist for the Arthur C. Clarke Award, the most prestigious award for science fiction in Britain — Gather the Daughters by Jennie Melamed, Spaceman of Bohemia by Jaroslav Kalfar. The winner will be announced on July 18.

Client Publisher highlight: HBG client publisher Marvel had the top two bestselling titles on Bookscan this week, Star Wars: Darth Vader/Dark Lord of the Sith, Vol 2 at #1 and Infinity Gauntlet at #2, an impressive achievement.
