About the Author
 
The author, Dr. Donald R. Stoltz, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and educated in that city. He attended Central High School, Temple University, and The Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. For 35 years he had a large practice of Family Medicine and in 1998 he retired and turned the office over to his son, Dr. Brad Stoltz. Since his retirement, he has lectured on Medicine and Art across the United States. In addition to practicing medicine, Dr. Stoltz is also a prolific writer, poet, painter, lyricist, and avid collector of original American Illustration. He has written and illustrated several children’s books on medical subjects such as toilet training, eating problems, physician phobia, and sex education. He has also written a teen novel on summer camping, “Bunk 1,” a play based on his medical practice, “The Waiting Room,” a children’s movie, “The Bubble Flight,” and a series of children’s book called “Philip A Pen and Friends.”

In addition, he has written dozens of magazine articles on art and illustration and two large coffee table books on the life of the famous American artist Norman Rockwell, “Norman Rockwell and The Saturday Evening Post” and “The Advertising World of Norman Rockwell.” He has also penned several poetry books and a children story book illustrated by covers from The Saturday Evening Post. Between 1976 and 1998, Dr. Stoltz and his brother Marshall owned and operated The Curtis Center of Norman Rockwell Art across the street from Independence Hall in Philadelphia. And finally, totally switching gears, he has created “My Favorite 120 Jokes: Dirty, Clean, and In Between.”
