How far will you go in order to be truly free? Author Denis Gray shares the story of one man’s journey of attaining freedom from slavery in his novel, Poisoned Hearts.

Gray’s latest book chronicles the story of Arthur, a slave who has seen much tragedy happening around him. Like his late mother before him, he is destined to work to the bone in Charity Plantation until he dies. His friend, Packer, suffered in the hands of a plantation owner after his son died under Packer’s watch. Arthur is spared from punishment due to his attempt to save Master Joshua.

Plantation owner Sebastian B. Colby sees Arthur as his chance to find redemption from grief, so he exhausts whatever means possible in order to own him. Arthur finds himself being taken from Charity Plantation to a new place, Hope Plantation. Although he is not treated as a slave in his new home, Arthur is not exactly living as a free man either. Over time, he acquires surprising and dark revelations about Colby. Will he muster the courage to expose his new master’s true nature and set himself free?

Gray enjoys writing works that explores man’s genuine nature. Readers of his earlier works are sure to enjoy his latest offering.

Poisoned Hearts is published by LitFire Publishing. It was displayed in their booth during the Frankfurt Book Fair 2017. The event was held at the Messe Frankfurt in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, from October 11 to 15.
