Gospel Reading Made Easy

The Gospel, or the Good News, is the story of Jesus Christ’s birth, death on the cross, and his resurrection. It is widely debated and misunderstood. While there have been attempts to curate and simplify all four books of the gospels in the past, deacon and author Jongwoo Han found that many narratives were still fragmented and confusing to the layperson. He took it upon himself to tell the complete story of Jesus’s life in his book, The Gospel: Matthew, Mark, Luke & John in One.

The idea for the book came to Jongwoo during a Bible youth study group in 2010. He seeks to highlight the similarities and unique characteristics in every book in the four gospels and unify them into one whole narrative. For instance, he manages to completely tell the Parable of the Sower without compromising the three gospels that covered it, as well as Jesus’s resurrection from four books into one.

Through its cohesive and chronologically written content, Han’s consolidation of Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John aims to make the Gospel more accessible for laypeople and novices. It is also excellent reference material for ministers, pastors, Bible scholars, and missionaries.

The Gospel was one of the many books displayed at the Frankfurt Book Fair 2017. The event took place at the Messe Frankfurt, located in Frankfurt, Germany. The book was displayed at LitFire Publishing’s booth from October 11 to 15.

About the Author

Dr. Jongwoo Han has written four books. The author and deacon is the incumbent president of the Korean Legacy War Foundation and World History Digital Education Foundation.
