New York, New York USA – WEBWIRE

Dr. Danna Brissie gives a refreshing professional’s take on the problems of human relationships in her book “Relationships: No One Taught Us How to Live Happily Ever After.” The book is a novel and revolutionary way of dealing with relationships and the problems related to them. Relationships have long been regarded from a sociological and emotional standpoint and yet somehow progress in improving human relationships has not been significant.

Relationships is Dr. Brissie’s way of showing her professional service to a greater and wider audience by sharing her new theories, methods and concepts in a book to readers. This way, her assistance isn’t limited by her profession and the clinical setting and can find its way to more people who might be needing help with different aspects of their relationships. Although written by a professional, readers will find that this book is written in a simple way for readers to easily understand and grasp the gist of the concepts that Dr. Brissie wants to impart to the readers. Dr. Brissie shows emphasis on the importance of communication, as healthy or dysfunction can respectively strengthen or weaken a relationship. This is a broadly encompassing book and tackles most of the significant relationship issues that modern individuals and families are facing, including divorce, breakups and separations. Of course, no self-help book is complete without offering readers ways of improving themselves and properly explaining how therapy can help them.

“Relationships: No One Taught Us How to Live Happily Ever After” is good reading material for a wide range of readers. Readers can have this book as a reliable reference. Readers who are not medically inclined can benefit from the book by gaining deeper insight into how relationships work and what can be done to strengthen relationships and remedy failing ones. The most popular part of the book is the section which describes roles people assume in their relationships. This functional book and other interesting ones will be available in the upcoming 2018 BookExpo New Title Showcase, which will be happening on May 30, 2018. Be at the fair and grab a copy!

About the Author
Dr. Danna Brissie was born in Dyersburg, Tennessee, and spent her first seventeen years there. After high school, she moved to SC where she attended Furman University and later the University of South Carolina where she received a degree in psychology. She attended Auburn University where she received masters and doctoral degrees in counselor education.

Her work experience includes teaching school; one year in Alabama where she was a crossover teacher (one of six Caucasian teachers working in an all-African-American school) during the process of integration in the ‘60s. Dr. Brissie describes this as one of the most enlightening and beneficial experiences in her life as well as her career. She later worked as a therapist in a psychiatric practice in Greenville, South Carolina, as director of student counseling at Coastal Carolina University (affiliated with the University of South Carolina during that period), and in Coastal Carolina (later Charter) Hospital in Conway, South Carolina. She also maintained a successful private practice in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

She was appointed to the first South Carolina Board of Examiners for Licensure of Professional Counselors and Marital and Family Therapists by then Governor Richard Riley. She helped establish high professional standards for counselors and therapists.

After writing this book, she was invited to be keynote speaker at McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts during the fall mental health week in 1993. She has spoken at civic clubs and churches, conducted seminars at professional conventions, and attended numerous book signings.

She worked with hundreds of couples over her thirty years in practice, which inspired her to write this book. She discovered many patterns in relationships and found that her clients responded successfully to the knowledge about these patterns and especially to the guide about learning their roles in relationships. Dr. Brissie is currently retired and resides in Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
