The colorful children’s book by Roslyn Thorpe tells the adventurous dream of RayRay, who accidentally bumps his head while playing outside during Sunday. While resting in bed, he dreams being in fantasyland with Mandy the bear and eight other friends. They all have a good time in the forest – for one whole week of fun and excitement. RayRay discovers new things and experiences what it is to be in the forest with friends, especially having lots of fun around a campfire. Their friendship grows closer and closer as the days go by until they have to say goodbye to each other. As they were bidding goodbyes, he felt someone shaking him. He wakes up to realize that everything is only a dream.
The fun-filled storybook will help spike children’s interest in reading. It also teaches them important things such as friendship and like the sequence of days in a week. “RayRay’s Amazing Dream: An Adventurous Week,” will be on display in the upcoming 2018 New York Rights Fair on May 30, 2015. About the Author:
Roslyn Thorpe was born in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, in the West Indies and is fourth in a family of twelve. Her first job was that of an elementary school teacher. She also worked as a librarian, legal secretary, and interim pastor. She migrated to the US in 1987 and worked as an early childhood teacher for nine years. Roslyn obtained her Bachelor degree at the College of New Rochelle and her Master’s degree in Special Education at the Brooklyn College City University of New York. She also completed studies in Administration and Supervision in education at the Brooklyn College. Roslyn is currently employed by the New York City Board of Education as a teacher.
