Each person should understand that there’s always an opportunity to change the way they see themselves and strive to make the most of what they can do in this world. Children’s author Ray Sobrino Jr., hopes to spread this exact message and a whole lot more lessons among kids and families through Ralphie’s one-of-a-kind journey.  The story also aims to advocate building self-confidence among children in order to develop their best abilities as they grow up.

In “Ralphie the Roach,” the tale follows Ralphie and his story of acceptance self-discovery. As the story progresses, readers will find Ralphie, the young roach, being constantly annoyed and teased by Honey Bee because of his ugliness and dirtiness.  After a series of events, Ralphie learns that each one has their own uniqueness including himself and that his individuality should be embraced in order to show the world what he can do.

Accepting one’s inner beauty and building self-confidence are just some of the lessons that children will learn from “Ralphie the Roach’s” story. It also teaches the lesson on being kind and accepting to one another regardless of one’s physical appearance.
