Sibling Rivalry of Epic Proportions

Conflict is imminent because of people’s differing philosophies in life. Daniel Darcey’s “Dark Rage” sees two siblings with opposing ideals fight for dominance over their magical realm.

The science fiction novel tells the tale of Princess Asora and Queen Laxur, two sisters who aim to rule over their realm. The former aspires for progress, while the latter is on a quest for revenge and power. Due to their differences in principles and opinions, factions of their followers rise and sow chaos throughout their domain.

The idea for Darcey’s novel, which is a part of his Kingdoms and Empires series, came to him when he was working on a thought experiment while in the fourth grade. Development for the series began in 2000. Being a longtime enthusiast of science fiction novels, Darcey sought to write his own material with a personal touch.

“Dark Rage” was displayed at LitFire Publishing’s booth at the 10th Annual Tucson Festival of Books. The festival attracts more than 400 authors and 130,000 book aficionados who gather every year as a celebration of literature. The two-day event took place at the University of Arizona campus from March 10 to 11.

About the Author

Daniel Darcey is a US Navy veteran residing in the Puget Sound area of the Seattle metropolis. The California native and engineer has also worked as a writer for “Universal Creative Writing Magazine.” He lists traveling as one of his favorite hobbies.
