Playwright Publishes Ninth Book of Plays

Prolific author and mathematician Arthur Ziffer compiles six of his well-known plays and presents them in a new collection.

“Masada Revisited III” is fun and entertaining, and so are the other plays; never a dull moment for anyone who reads the book.

There is no stopping Ziffer from modifying his plays and publishing more books. The publication of his ninth collection “Masada Revisited III and other Plays” (AuthorHouse, 2015) only proves how prolific he is and how creative he is in modifying his earlier creations. After all, as a mathematician, Ziffer is not afraid of change.

“Masada Revisited and other Plays” contains six plays. The lead play “Masada Revisited III” contains material from the previous plays, except for two scenes that are somewhat historical and religious in nature. “Masada Revisited III” is based on the Siege of Masada, a military engagement between the Jewish zealots and the Roman legions. The play briefly details how one obtains his/her Jewishness and describes the Essenes, a Jewish sect that shunned marriage.

The collection also includes five other plays: “Irresistible Impulse” (a modification of another play from an earlier publication), “Redemption,” “Isaac and Amanda” (about the famous mathematician Isaac Newton, which Ziffer is fascinated with), “One Plus One Equals One,” and “Hypatia” (about a real woman who lived during the 4th century AD in Alexandria, Egypt). All plays are equally fun and entertaining. How much more it would be if they’re adapted into movies? With a few modifications, of course. That’s if Ziffer will allow.
