Carbondale, Colorado – WEBWIRE

Perhaps the only book on dreams that does not only teaches readers how to interpret their dreams but also translate them into art.

For Wewer Keohane, dreams are a source of inspiration to make art. Most of her artworks have been inspired by dreams.

“My dreams have been my mentors, for they have given me imagery and direction in all aspects of my life,” said the artist in an interview with Post Independent, the local daily newspaper of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.

Dreams inspire Keohane to make art. “Creativity honors the dream,” she said. Indeed, dreams reinforce her sense of creativity.

Keohane does not only create art out of dreams but also publishes books on dreams, owing to her doctorate in creative arts & the psychology of dreaming. Her first book, “Artful Dreaming: A Primer for Finding Inspiration from Your Dreams,” published under CreateSpace way in 2009. A second edition was released with a new introduction, information and imagery in late 2017.
Keohane wrote “Artful Dreaming” to help people become awake, for self-awareness is available through dream work. She believes that dreams could do for other people what they have done for her: Inspire creativity. She has led many workshops proving this belief.
Through her book, she hopes to share with many people the basic principles of her dream processes. “Artful Dreaming,” classified under Health, Fitness & Dieting, Religion & Spirituality, and Self-Help, is designed for people who cannot attend her workshops, wherein she guides students through a unique process of finding inspiration in dreams to unlock access to their unique creativity as well as give them spiritual direction.
She wants to inspire readers to embrace their dream world and help them feel whole, alive and creative. She encourages dreamers to start with a simple composition, collage, paint, draw, and/or write to further develop their work intuitively with symbols of the subconscious.
Through the subject of dreams Keohane is able to build deeper connections with people. Indeed, it is a shared journey to find meaning behind dream symbols. For Keohane the artist, it is an honor to inspire people to make art.
Wewer Keohane’s “Artful Dreaming: A Primer for Finding Inspiration from Your Dreams” will be displayed at the upcoming New York Rights Fair 2018 on May 30 through June 1, 2018, at the Metropolitan Pavilion in Manhattan, New York City.
