Versive® Opens European Office As Rapidly Changing Regulatory Environment Increases Companies’ Responsibilities To Protect Data

The company aims to help European organizations face new regulatory demands outlined in the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Network Information Service Directive (NIS Directive)

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM — February 15, 2018 Versive today announced its expansion into Europe with the opening of a new office in London led by Jason O’Shaughnessy, the new head of international business development.

As of May 2018, GDPR comes into full effect establishing stricter security and privacy regulations for companies that collect European Union customer data. As regulations like GDPR and the NIS Directive put increased pressure on enterprises to appropriately protect user data, Versive relieves much of this intense burden by uniquely force-multiplying the efforts of security teams through automatic surfacing of unfolding adversary campaigns and providing improved network visibility.

The impending GDPR can cost companies as much as €20 million or four percent of annual global revenue, whichever is the greater, in fines if they do not sufficiently ensure adequate levels of protection for EU citizens from privacy and data breaches. The Versive Security Engine (VSE) fills a critical gap in a company’s security strategy by detecting the most sophisticated hackers who’ve already breached or accessed a network’s protective measures, so security teams can stop them before damage is done. VSE combines proprietary machine learning with expert understanding of how hackers operate to hunt for the adversaries already hidden in a network. VSE only presents users with the most pressing threats, and automatically generates readily actionable maps of unfolding adversary campaigns. This approach allows cybersecurity teams to focus on shutting down the most dangerous threats, rather than sorting through thousands of alerts.

“Our goal at Versive is to help companies meet these new compliance requirements. By offering a security solution that accurately identifies only the most pressing threats that require immediate investigation, companies can mitigate major breaches and the resulting negative bottom line impacts,” said Versive CEO Joe Polverari.

Versive has established a new office at Level 39 in London’s Canary Wharf. The office will be led by recently hired head of international business development Jason O’Shaughnessy. He comes to Versive from data analytics firm Yodlee, Inc., where he served as senior vice president of EMEA and Australia. O’Shaughnessy will be in charge of leading Versive’s expansion into Europe and cultivating new partnerships in the region. O’Shaughnessy has also brokered a deal with Level 39 that includes providing Versive’s services to other member companies.

“London is the perfect city to bring Versive into the European market,” said O’Shaughnessy. “We’re excited to provide support to our partners at Level 39 and can’t wait to grow our network across Europe.”

Versive now has four offices around the world, including New York, Silicon Valley, and their headquarters in Seattle. Through use of their product, Versive integrates expert knowledge from data scientists and security experts with scalable data insights to deliver results that meet critical enterprise needs.

About Versive
Versive is a cybersecurity company that helps organizations find the few threats that require immediate investigation amidst hundreds and thousands of hosts. The company’s solution identifies bad actors who’ve breached or accessed a network by automatically understanding core activities they can’t avoid and linking them into actionable maps of unfolding adversary campaigns. While other companies build products based on the number of models they use, Versive’s ‘less is more’ ideology marks a radically different methodology that prioritizes a few valuable results over a barrage of clutter, thus delivering less in order to provide more value. Unlike other services that drown security teams in thousands of alerts, Versive’s detection method presents enterprises with time-sensitive information on only the most pressing threats.

Versive has been recognized on CB Insights’ prestigious AI 100 list of the most promising, privately-held artificial intelligence companies for the past two consecutive years, and as a 2017 SINET 16 Innovators, a designation given to the innovative and compelling emerging cybersecurity companies.
