Rep. John Delaney, Democratic Candidate for President, to Publish “The Right Answer” with Henry Holt and Company
John Delaney, the U. S. Representative for Maryland’s 6th Congressional district, will publish his first book, “The Right Answer: How We Can Unify Our Divided Nation,” with Henry Holt, it was announced today by the company. Delaney, a Democrat, is the first declared candidate for president in 2020.
The son of a union electrician and grandson of an immigrant, Delaney founded, built and then sold two companies worth billions of dollars before he was 50. In 2012, he stepped away from his businesses, ran for Congress, and won. His book will be a rousing call for bipartisan action, entrepreneurial innovation, and a renewed commitment to the American idea. Delaney will tell stories from his childhood, his successful career as an entrepreneur, his family life, and his new career in politics to illustrate his belief in the importance of creative problem-solving and far-sighted investments in the future. He will also write candidly about his experiences working on Capitol Hill, where hyper-partisan politics is causing so many elected officials to put political party ahead of country. Only by seeing both sides of an argument, telling the truth, and releasing our inner entrepreneur, Delaney argues, can we get back to constructive, enlightened governing.
The book, scheduled for publication in June, will be edited by John Sterling, editor at large for Macmillan, who has worked on books by Sen. Elizabeth Warren and Sen. Amy Klobuchar.
