Petróleos Mexicanos Reopens its Hospital in Salina Cruz, State of Oaxaca After Renovations Due to the Earthquake of September 7

The CEO of Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex), Carlos Treviño Medina, reopened the rehabilitated facilities of the area’s General Hospital, which was damaged during the earthquake that occurred on September 7, 2017.

With the governor of Oaxaca, Alejandro Murat, as well as with Senator Carlos Romero Deschamps, among others, Treviño Medina visited the facilities of this second-tier hospital, which was remodelled with an investment of 39 million pesos and provides healthcare for over 15 thousand people.

The investment allowed for the installation of cutting-edge technology in the Slina Cruz Hospital, in order to provide appropriate, safe and quality healthcare for all the oil workers of the Istmo area.

Furthermore, the Pemex CEO donated a latest-generation ambulance to the Hospital de la Niñez Oaxaqueña (Oaxaca Children’s Hospital) and three garbage collection trucks to the Municipality of Salina Cruz, which translates into an investment of nearly 4 million pesos. These new waste management units will benefit over 80 thousand people.

Treviño Medina highlighted that these actions are proof of the solidarity of all Pemex workers with the community and they are part of the commitment to social profitability of the flagship company of the Mexican State.

In addition to Governor Alejandro Murat and the Secretary General of the General Executive Committee of the Oil Workers’ Union of the Mexican Republic, Carlos Romero Deschamps, the Corporate Director of Management and Services, Marco Antonio Murillo Soveranis, the Deputy Director of Pemex Healthcare Services, Marco Antonio Navarrete Prida, and Andrés Albo Márquez, Director of Social Commitment of CitiBanamex, among others, also attended the event.
