Eurosport Partners With Facebook To Amplify Its Olympic Winter Games Coverage

Eurosport to stream Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Winter Games for first time in Germany, Sweden and Norway on Facebook

Daily short form highlights of Olympic clips, athlete interviews and social influencer content available on Facebook across Europe, including in UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Norway

Wide reaching partnership expands coverage of Olympic Winter Games to European digital audiences


Eurosport has partnered with Facebook to extend its Olympic Winter Games digital coverage to people on Facebook across Europe.

Facebook communities in Germany, Sweden and Norway will be able to tune in live to Eurosport’s coverage of the PyeongChang 2018 Opening Ceremony.  Daily highlights, clips and interviews from Eurosport’s coverage will also be posted throughout the Games on Eurosport’s Facebook Page across key European markets, including the UK, Germany, Italy, Sweden and Norway.  Eurosport has launched a dedicated mobile digital studio moving between Olympic venues, producing social-first short form clips with athletes, influencers and fans, giving audiences the opportunity to go behind-the-scenes at the Olympic Winter Games and experience the on-site atmosphere.

Eurosport will deliver live and on-demand coverage of the Olympic Winter Games across all screens in 48 countries*.  Eurosport Digital platforms will host more than 4,000 hours of coverage and 100 events will be available, including 900 hours of live action, more than ever before across the continent.

In addition, as part of its ambitious digital strategy, Eurosport is working with digital and social media influencers on-site in PyeongChang to amplify its Games coverage.  For example, Josh Carrott and Ollie Kendal, better known as the hosts of the Korean Englishman connecting Korean and English cultures to a social audience of more than 2.3 million worldwide.   The Korean Englishman will stream a daily 45-minute Livestream show called “The Afterparty,” which includes appearances from Eurosport talent, athletes, fans and fellow influencers.  Eurosport will leverage Facebook to amplify highlights from The Afterparty and other influencers to communities on the platform in Europe.

Eurosport’s dedicated Olympic Winter Games website – – and the Eurosport App, available for iOS and Android, will be the only place across Europe fans can watch every minute, every athlete and every sport online, on mobile and on tablet devices.
