TestAmerica Announces Accreditation for PFAS by QSM 5.1 Table B-15

TestAmerica Laboratories, Inc., a proven leader in laboratory services for customers in both the public and private sectors, announced today that their Sacramento, CA laboratory has earned accreditation for per and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in accordance with the Department of Defense’s Quality Service Manual (QSM) version 5.1.  DoD QSM 5.1 provides laboratories with the primary requirements for the creation of quality systems and management plans for testing samples from the Department of Defense and Department of Energy.
 
Per and polyfluoroalkyl substances are a family of hundreds of synthetic compounds used in a wide variety of industrial and commercial products.  The fluorinated carbon chains present in PFAS compounds are the shortest and strongest bonds in nature, and possess unique lipid- and water-repellent properties which make them beneficial for many commercial and industrial applications.  TestAmerica offers several analytical options for the determination of PFAS compounds in drinking water, groundwater, soil, tissue, sediment, and product samples.  TestAmerica also offers Total Oxidizable Precursor (TOP) Assay testing in conjunction with standard PFAS testing to identify “precursors” to the perfluoroalkyl acids, which can aid in determination of potential PFAS environmental risk.
 
TestAmerica has been providing PFAS analyses since the year 2000 and now offers PFAS testing with DoD QSM 5.1 accreditation from its Sacramento, CA location, with additional PFAS capacity for non-DoD work at TestAmerica Denver and TestAmerica Burlington.
